MAXIE METCALF

Maxie Faye Metcalf, age 88 of Nixa, Missouri went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 9, 2024 after a brief illness. She was born August 26, 1935 in

Crane, Missouri to Truman C. Hagler and Lora V. (Gamble) Hagler. She was a

1952 graduate of Crane High School.

On April 6, 1952, she married Bob L. Metcalf in Harrison, Arkansas.

Together they had two daughters and one son. Bob and Maxie Faye grew their marriage and family through their strong faith serving the Lord. They were members at the First Baptist Church Crane, where Maxie Faye served as church treasurer, served in vacation Bible school and lead Sunday School class. Bob and Maxie Faye enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal baseball, traveling together, and spending time with family and friends.

Maxie Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob, her sister Eileen Harmon, and brothers Jack Wilson and Gary Wilson.

She is survived by her children Ginny (Bob) Cook of Conway, AR, Brent (Wendy) Metcalf of Crane, MO, Stacey (Tony) Grisham of Nixa, MO; two brothers in-law, Wayne (Mary) Metcalf of Baxter Springs, KS and Bill (Janice) Metcalf of Crane, MO; six grandchildren; Ryan (Brooke) Cook, Jared (April) Cook all of

Conway, AR, Lindsey (Joel) Alsup of Memphis, TN, Josh (Ginger) Metcalf of Spring, TX, Kim Metcalf of Crane, MO and Paige Grisham of Nixa, MO; six great-grandchildren Audrey and Jacob Wilkerson, Maleah and Adien Cook, Ellie Metcalf, and Emme Metcalf. As well as a host of much loved nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Special thanks to all the wonderful staff and friends at Castlewood Senior Living Nixa, MO and St. Croix Hospice for their love, support, and care of Maxie. Funeral services were held on March 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Crane, MO. Burial will be at Crane Community Cemetery under

the care of Westrip Funeral Home of Crane, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
