NANETTE LEA BISHOP

Nanette Lea Bishop, 74, of Hurley, Missouri went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, with her family by her side. Nanette was born October 6, 1949, in Aurora, Missouri, the daughter of Thaddeus Phillips and Reitha Aileen (Mackey) Lewis.

Nanette was a 1967 graduate of Aurora High School and was a secretary at the First Baptist Church in Aurora. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Above all in life Nanette loved her family and her church family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elsey, Missouri.

On October 27, 1967, she married Ronald Earl Bishop, in Hurley, Missouri.

Nanette is survived by her husband of 56 years Ronnie; one son, Heath Bishop of Hurley, Missouri; two daughters, Suzanne Hultz and her husband, Lee, of Elsey, Missouri and Valery Wilson and her husband, Brad, of Hurley, Missouri; two sisters, Reitha Haworth and her husband, Gerald, of Monett, Missouri and Janie Barke of Hurley, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Debbie Lewis of Republic, Missouri, Nancy Lewis of Diamond, Missouri and Brinda Bishop of Nixa, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Abby, Christa, Tyler and his fiancé, Jazmin, Tabby and her husband, Justin, Brooke and her fiancée, Garrett, Kate and her husband, Andrew, Aubrey, Emma and Nathan and several nieces and nephews.

Nanette was preceded in death by her parents, Thaddeus and Reitha; three brothers, Michael, Danny and Jay Lewis; grandson, Micah and great-grandson, Walker.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora. A burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2024, in the funeral home chapel.
