Gladys Gaye (Owens) Wrinkle

Gladys Gaye (Owens) Wrinkle, daughter of George Farris Owens and Alta Mae (Lewis) Owens, was born on February 24, 1935, in Cape Fair, and departed this life on October 6, 2023. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Nixa.

After graduation, Gaye moved to Kansas City for work at Bell Telephone and then to Bartlesville, OK where she was employed at Phillips 66. She returned home upon the death of her sister, Donna where she devoted her time to help raising her nieces, Cheryl and Linda. Gaye worked in retail at JC Penney and finished her career working several years in the banking industry.

Gaye spent her last few years at Bradford Court, Nixa, where she was treated as family and surrounded by kindness and compassion.

Gaye was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alta; husband Ray; sisters, Donna Carr and Ginger Stephens and brothers, Glen and Darrell.

Survivors include: one sister, Pamelia Owens of Roswell, GA; two nieces, that she raised as her own, Cheryl Tittsworth and her husband, Joe of Reeds Spring, and Linda Robinson and her husband, Simon of Springfield; nephews, Brian Stephens and his wife, Karen of Shawnee, KS and Duane Stephens and his wife, Jennifer of Blue Springs and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in Stumpff Funeral Chapel, Crane. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Cape Fair Cemetery, Cape Fair, with Duane Stephens and Brian Stephens officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane.
